Simple Tip #1 - Vino

Are you not sure what wine to serve at your wedding reception?  Well, get your friends together and have a wine party!  Make some fun food (or cater in - that's very fun too!) and get some different colors and flavors of wine.  Generally, reds will go best with red meat and red sauces.  Whites will go best with chicken, seafood, pasta, and white sauces.  Both go great with chocolate!  Some whites are sweeter than others.  For a menu example:  a Riesling (which is my FAVORITE white) is fantastic with some grilled chicken, roased asparagus and delightful salad and cheesecake.  On the other hand, reds will tend to be a bit drier (except a Zinfandel).  A menu example is:  a Merlot, Shiraz, Syrah (all are great!) goes great with a grilled, medium rare piece of tenderloin, marinated and grilled mushrooms, red potatoes and zucchini slices, a delicious piece of pane toscano bread and a plate of molten lava cake for dessert.  Also, make sure you have the right glasses for the right color wine.  Red's glasses are rounder while the white's are narrower.  Well, now I'm hungry!  I hope this helps, but if you have questions, please leave a comment and I will respond within 24 hours.
